 Born and raised in East LA, former Huskies guard Francisco Aguilar returns for his 3rd season as a member of the ELAC basketball coaching staff for the 2018-2019 year. Being a former player of Mosley, Francisco is a young great asset and knows what it takes to assist the ELAC team to victory. Prior to his position on the ELAC coaching staff, Francisco held a JV/Assistant Varsity coaching position at Jefferson High School where he changed student athlete lives.  During this past summer he helped with player development at Torres High School as well.

Francisco attended Garfield High school where he played 4 years of basketball. For his first year he was on the freshman team and then his second year he joined the junior varsity team. His final 2 years he played on the Varsity Basketball team. During his junior year he helped the Bulldogs reach there first ever LA city section D3 Basketball championship where they received 2nd place. For the first time, he received LA city’s section second team all league. The summer before his senior year, he attended and participated in the Rico’s get better league. This league serves the top basketball players of the CIF Southern section and LA city. As mentioned in the LA Times in 2012, Francisco is seen as a “red-hot shooter” averaging with 23.2 points in the playoffs. In his final year as a Garfield Bulldog, he once again assisted the team to the LA city section D2 Basketball championship finalists. He then received LA city’s section first team all league during his last year. Francisco graduated with a 3.8 GPA and after high school decided to continue his college career at ELAC.

During his two years at ELAC, Francisco was apart of the Husky basketball team where he was instructed by Coach John Mosley. During his first year as a Husky Francisco assisted the team with a 21-8 record and with some clutch 3-point shooting helped ELAC win their first playoff game in school history. He also helped lead the Huskies to become ranked as high as #7 in the CCCAA State Coaches Poll which was the highest ranking in school history. In his sophomore year, he helped contribute to a South Coast Conference (SCC) Championship. Which was the first in over 42 years. They reached the CCCAA state playoffs with another 20+ win season. He then transferred to Bethesda University where he continued to pursue basketball. At Bethesda University, he played against great competition which included D1 (San Jose State University, CSUN, CSUF, and University of San Diego) and D2, D3 and NAIA schools. In 2014-2015 the flames reached the NCCAA Western Regionals Playoffs with the contribution of Francisco.

Francisco currently resides in East Los Angeles, CA. He received his A.A degree in Social and Behavioral Sciences from ELAC and has a B.A. in Business with a minor in Sports Management from Bethesda University. He is a Volunteer coach for the East Los Angeles basketball club which emphasizes Youth development skills. Francisco is also working with The Male Leadership Academy at ELAC, a program that supports the vision of underrepresented Men of Color and supports their success at the Community College.
