Coach Robert Robinson begins his first season at ELAC after 20 very successful years as a head coach at Notre Dame High School in Riverside, Ca. Coach Rob was born and raised in Kansas City and Leavenworth, Ks before moving to California to finish high school while attending Cabrillo High in Lompoc, Ca. After high school he played basketball for Allen Hancock Community College and Stephen F. Austin State before finishing his college hoops career at UC-Riverside in 1996. While at UC Riverside he also ran track where he qualified for the NCAA national championship finals in the high jump in 96’.
Coach Rob had coaching stops from 1997-98 at Allen Hancock Community College as an assistant and as a head coach and player for the Columbus Cagerz of the USBL. He began his high school coaching career in 1998 and over two decades amassed over 360 wins, 6 league titles, a CIF championship, 3 regional finals, and a state finals appearance in 2018. He has been named CalHi State coach of the year, Scibca Southern Section coach of the year, and the Press Enterprise Coach of the Year.
He received his Bachelors degree in Sociology from UC Riverside in 97’ and his master’s degree in Instruction and Curriculum from Emporia State University in Kansas in 2005. He has been married to his wife Krysten for 21 years and they have three sons, KJ 20, Meda 20, and Justus 18.
