East L.A. College Women's Soccer is Unbeaten vs. Northern California Teams

MONTEREY PARK, Calif. — It’s been a crazy opening week for the East Los Angeles College women’s soccer team which began the season with two draws against strong Northern California teams.

ELAC opened its 2018 campaign with two 1-1 ties and as a result landed a No. 14 ranking in the South Region Poll. ELAC tied No. 12-North Region ranked Clovis Community College and then No. 5 West Valley College who was undefeated until they met the Huskies.

The Huskies followed with two home losses to South Region ranked teams. ELAC lost 2-0 to No. 10 San Bernardino Valley College and 5-0 to No. 5 Los Angeles Valley College today.

The Huskies are 0-2-2 overall. Clovis (2-1-2), West Valley (3-1-1), San Bernardino (2-1) and Valley (5-0) each have winning records.

The Huskies have one game next week on the road at Los Angeles Harbor College (1-1-2) Wednesday, Sept. 12 at 3 p.m.
