Angela Browne began coaching the East Los Angeles College men’s and women’s track and field teams as an assistant coach in jumps since 2018.
Browne helped produce All-Americans at the 2018 California Community College Athletic Association Track and Field Men’s State Championships with a men’s triple jump title and a long jump runner-up. The ELAC men’s team placed ninth, its best finish since 2008.
>Browne says education is her highest priority at ELAC for student-athletes and is always ready to help them out when they need guidance. Browne recruits heavily during the off-season and hopes to get ELAC back on the scene with some quality jumpers.
>Browne coaches jumps at John W. North High School for both the boy’s and girl’s teams and also the Lion’s Track Club in Riverside. During the 2017-18 season, Browne had a high school girl jumper sign to the University of California, Berkeley.
Browne earned a Master’s from California Baptist University in Accounting and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Riverside in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting.
She is a three-time Track and Field All-American at Cal Baptist and a national champion in the 4x800-meter relay from the 1999 Outdoor NAIA Championships. Browne competed in track and field and cross country at both Cal Baptist and the University of California, Riverside. She graduated from Duarte High school, where she played basketball in 1997.
